How To See If Your Video Is Getting Your Message Across

Wednesday, July 27th, 2011

From The Creative Producer at Seven Pictures.

There are a number of things to consider to ensure the effectiveness of your video. Hear a helpful tip from the Creative Producer, AC (Asbjorn Christiansen), at Seven Pictures Los Angeles to think about while producing your online videos.

At Seven Pictures, corporate video production is our main area of expertise. What this means is that we specialize in full spectrum video production for use on your business website or on video sharing sites for optimal exposure. This also might translate to us producing product videos used to educate your staff on how to better do their job, or to teach the public how to utilize your product improving your chances of gaining clientele.

Video Transcript:

“Have you ever tried to watch a video and then suddenly you got distracted, you were thinking about something else? There is nothing wrong with you, there is something wrong with the video. The guy that did the video did something wrong. A video is supposed to grab you, and hold you, and not let you go before the message came across and you got the whole idea about what it is the video wanted to tell you. And then it let you go. And you feel great. And you got it.”

These are just a few suggestions of how to make video work for you, but to get a better idea of what Seven Pictures and The Creative Producer can offer, here are some video samples of our work.

iPad Apps | How To Use The iPad For Business

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

According to Forbes article, “iPad: One of the Most Successful Products Ever,”

“The iPad now accounts for over one percent of worldwide web browsing – and in the US, that figure jumps to 2.1 per cent. For a product that’s only just over 14 months since first release that is an astonishing share of the global Internet market to have captured.”

With that said, take advantage of the opportunity and available technology to expand your business outreach, marketing, and create reinvigorated content for your business with video!

Seven Pictures produced a series of instructional and informative videos to be featured in a business application (app) for iPad. The app was developed to function cohesively as a guided hearing test and a consumer database. The video material consists of: a welcoming introduction to the hearing test, step-by-step video instruction, and additional information regarding the test results and options for further care. These segments were filmed in three separate series. The client requested that the video content be available in three different accents: American, British and Australian.

This is another approach to using video for iPad. Businesses can upload videos and presentations to the iPad device itself using a media library, or there is the option of featuring video in an application developed specifically for your company. However, this particular app is not meant to promote the client, Spinach Effect, in fact it is their product. Video enhances the app by adding substantial content with a delivery that holds the user’s attention.

TECHNOLOGY

Spinach Effect fabricated the Touch Screen Hearing Kiosk. This system operates as a hearing test as well as a database, collecting contact/personal information from those requesting a screening.

The technology within the kiosk is the iPad itself – supported by the app. The iPad functions on a 3G Internet connection, which allows for real time data transfer and software updates. The iPad is placed inside the kiosk stand with the screen displayed.

Online Video Marketing With Cinematic Quality

Friday, June 10th, 2011

By now it seems to be a no-brainer: people are inherently attracted to material that is visually stimulating more so than text alone. Unlike text, a quality made video not only has the power of attraction, it can also hold a viewer’s attention, which is vital in getting your message across. This is critically important when it comes to product demonstration, advertising, training, informing, and especially marketing to a growing audience of prospect buyers.

By combining corporate video content with the escalating success of social media marketing, you increase your business’s web presence as well as generate a buzz.  Social media marketing opens the opportunity for your company videos to be shared through different web communication platforms.  According to a survey entitled 2011 Social Media Marketing Industry Report: How Marketers Are Using Social Media to Grow Their Businesses, by Michael A. Stelzner (sponsored by Social Media Examiner):

  • “88% of all marketers [3,342 surveyed] say that social media has increased exposure for their business and 72% report increased traffic to their website.”
  • “72% of the marketers reported improved search engine rankings as a result of social media marketing.”
  • “Overall 51% of the respondents have reported an increase in leads and 43% have improved sales.”

It’s crucial for your business to utilize all aspects of web communication available today. According to a survey of over 300 C-level executives done by Forbes entitled Video in the C-Suite: Executives Embrace the Non-Text Web, “Over 54% of senior executives share work-related videos with colleagues at least weekly, and almost as many receive from colleagues.” However, age is an important factor to take notice because younger executives under the age of 40 are more likely to share and receive videos daily. This conveys an obvious trend of where the social web is headed.   The Forbes survey also shows that 69% of executives under the age of 40 post links to work-related videos to “networking” sites weekly.

If you want to make a striking impression on the web, Seven Pictures will create a professional corporate video with cinematic quality for you to share virally through social media marketing. It’s that easy. Call us at (323) 462-0987 and one of our award-wining video producers will be happy to give you professional advice on your next video project as well as a free quote!

Video In The Boardroom: Part Two

Thursday, June 9th, 2011

An ongoing series brought to you by Seven Pictures

A recent Forbes survey of senior executives across the country revealed that an astounding 65% visit a vendor’s website after seeing a video of the vendor’s product on YouTube or other media outlets. This is great news for your business! What this means for you is that it’s concretely proven that video drives traffic to your business’ website, which is essentially invaluable for your business’ exposure.

But there’s even bigger news. Further survey results indicated that younger executives (those under 40) are more fully engaged than their older counterparts with this type of media, meaning they are more likely to make a purchase, call a vendor or respond to an ad based solely on watching a company’s video.

Simply put, this survey tells us that if you want to communicate in today’s business environment, you need video to stay relevant. It’s no longer a luxury, but now a necessity for the continued growth of your business.

At Seven Pictures, corporate video is our passion and main area of expertise. We offer quality production of tasteful video with a cinematic touch for you to have on your business website, YouTube or other video sharing sites, which is a great way to increase brand exposure, as well as create new destinations for your marketing video.

Fifteen Minutes of Inspiration

Project Profile:

Clark Construction Nokia Award Video

Situation

Shortly after celebrating its 100th anniversary, Clark Construction completed work on a project for AEG, one of the leading sports and entertainment presenters in the world. The project was the Nokia Theater, next to Staples Center, in the heart of downtown Los Angeles.

When AEG was notified it would be receiving the prestigious “Q Award” from the Alliance for Quality Construction for the Nokia, Clark Construction was invited to address the audience at the awards ceremony. They had fifteen minutes with a captive audience—an audience full of potential clients. The objective was to commend AEG and at the same time present themselves favorably to the group.

When Clark Construction contacted Seven Pictures six weeks before the event, there was no script, no budget, no firm ideas—only a very fixed and inflexible deadline.

Project type

Corporate video for public relations

Project span

May–June (six weeks)

Production challenges

Six week deadline with absolutely no leeway.

Construction was completed so no possibility of filming during the theater’s construction.

The piece had to be a tribute to AEG, not a promotion for Clark, but at the same time must show Clark favorably.

Key Clark personnel on vacation during parts of the video production.

Solutions

Seven Pictures focused on the history of downtown Los Angeles, and how AEG, with the help of Clark Construction, was contributing to the rebirth of downtown LA.

Combining stock footage, new footage and special effects, Seven Pictures wove a fascinating narrative that successfully accomplished the client’s needs and entertained the audience.

Even with Clark personnel on vacation, the approval lines still ran smoothly. From rough assembly forward, each cut was available online with time codes—the client could view the cut and make comments with time notations for fast reference.

Benefits to client

Once the project kicked off, Seven Pictures solved the situation, from concept through full execution.

The video was produced on schedule and within budget.

The video was well received, with audience praise following the awards event.

From the customer

“… We did have a tight timeline, but you brought it together with time to spare. The creative approach to the project was a stroke of genius and brought the video to another level. I felt in the loop as for a the progress of the video and that you were taking care of my project…”

Marketing Surveys vs. Focus Groups

Friday, April 29th, 2011

Good research must come from the minds of the company’s customers or potential customers.

Whether for advertising, marketing or public relations campaigns, surveys can provide the magic key to the door of increased sales and income. But that key must be forged from by honest and straight forward responses from individuals in your public (and then tabulated), not by a group of people who have been paid to kick the concept around in a room and not what someone else “thinks” it should be.

To quote Al Ries and Jack Trout the authors of the ground-breaking book, Positioning the Battle for your Mind

“In determining the state of the prospect’s mind, it is important not to let corporate egos get in the way. You get the answers to (positioning questions) from the market-place, not from the marketing manager.”

Done in this way, you may well come to recognize market research as the foundation upon which consistently successful media campaigns are built.

New Film to LAUP Los Angeles Universal Preschool

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Seven Pictures
Attention: AC

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the incredible job you did on the Los Angeles Universal Preschool fundraising video production. Our mandate was not a simple one, yet you navigated the multiple layers of needs and wishes to produce an engaging, sharply produced and effective video.

Your personal vision and ability to tell our story was what impressed us the most. You were able to express our core mission by listening to our families, providers and to the community that we serve, and by allowing them to express what it is about LAUP that makes a difference in their lives and in the lives of their children. You carefully balanced the many testimonials with riveting footage, clever montages and voiceovers. On a creative level, you helped to show the warmth and humanity of our CEO, COO and all of our spokespeople through great backdrops, camera angles and lighting.

The initial response to the video has been one of excitement and pride both internally and in our community, The LAUP story is finally being told with Los Angeles County as the context and our families, stakeholders and advocates as our spokespeople.

We look forward to working with you in the future, AC. We plan on creating shorter versions of the video and possibly exploring video news releases or other channels of distribution for our visual message. I offer my heartfelt thanks to you and your team and please do not hesitate to use my name as a reference at any time; it would be my pleasure.

Warmly,
Eva Brune
