On March 27th, 2010, the fourth annual Earth Hour took place between 8:30 and 9:30, in whatever time zone you happened to be in. What this means is that you turn off your lights for an hour to show your support for global sustainability.

A call for environmental awareness, Earth Hour has been recognized in almost 90 countries around the world, and one of the locales that honors this annual event is LAX. My crew and I were there at LAX to document the moment. Beautiful, isn’t it?

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the incredible job you did on the Los Angeles Universal Preschool fundraising video production. Our mandate was not a simple one, yet you navigated the multiple layers of needs and wishes to produce an engaging, sharply produced and effective video.

Your personal vision and ability to tell our story was what impressed us the most. You were able to express our core mission by listening to our families, providers and to the community that we serve, and by allowing them to express what it is about LAUP that makes a difference in their lives and in the lives of their children. You carefully balanced the many testimonials with riveting footage, clever montages and voiceovers. On a creative level, you helped to show the warmth and humanity of our CEO, COO and all of our spokespeople through great backdrops, camera angles and lighting.

The initial response to the video has been one of excitement and pride both internally and in our community, The LAUP story is finally being told with Los Angeles County as the context and our families, stakeholders and advocates as our spokespeople.

We look forward to working with you in the future, AC. We plan on creating shorter versions of the video and possibly exploring video news releases or other channels of distribution for our visual message. On the subject of what a corporate video costs these days, Christiansen points out that this, of course, depends on what you ultimately need in terms of the final product.  However, he labels any “pricing-per-minute-of-produced-video” as essentially meaningless because it overlooks the production values, locations, and number of set-ups that would directly impact the final cost of the project.

“A corporate video with several different angles of a company spokesperson talking to a camera might go on for twenty minutes and only cost a couple thousand dollars,” says Christiansen.  “On the other hand, a high definition digital montage from various locations might only last 45 seconds but cost $150,000.  This is why pricing based on the length of the final product doesn’t work.”

The most important and most basic is to promote and keep promoting. That is what works. The problem is, that when you promote you get business. Then you forget to keep promoting, and when the first promotion is drying out, (because you did not keep promoting) somebody says “yes we promoted but we did not get so much”. They totally forgot how long ago it was since they promoted!

Another thing is that it also takes some time before the promotion starts to give results! We get so many impressions a day that we are becoming more or less immune to a one time promotion – there needs to be at least 3 of them within a short period of time, communicating the same messages. Then you will start breaking through.

If you do not continue promotions “they simply forget about you”. So here it is, “You simply cannot afford NOT to promote”

THE PURPOSE OF THE FINANCIAL CRISIS

A towering citadel housing what is essentially a sovereign state known as the Bank for International Settlements is located in Basel, Switzerland. The bank now controls the financial affairs of planet Earth.

If you think this is an exaggeration or the conspiratorial ramblings of the author . . . or not, I invite you to read on.

I wrote the first installment of this article—“The Financial Crisis: A Look Behind the Wizard’s Curtain”—in mid-March of this year.
The article included the following statement:
The purpose of this financial crisis is to take down the United States and the U.S. dollar as the stable datum of planetary finance and, in the midst of the resulting confusion, put in its place a Global Monetary Authority—a planetary financial control organization “to ensure this never happens again.”

This purpose has now been accomplished.

The dollar, the former king of currencies, now goes begging in the pant-suited persona of Hillary Clinton to our creditors at the Chinese Communist Party.

Almost unthinkable a few short years ago, the U.S. dollar is fast losing its status as the world reserve currency, and any thought of saving it is being nuked by the Larry, Moe and Curly of U.S. economic policy – Bernanke, Geithner and Summers  – and their Alice in Wonderland trillion-dollar budget deficits.

I would not be surprised to see central banks start using the renminbi (the currency of the newly awakened People’s Republic of China—also called the yuan) for international trade and reserves in the not too distant future. This prediction will likely be scoffed at by global economists, but then they have about as much credibility as pharmaceutical salesmen these days.
